TROOST, Cornelis:
Dutch painter (b. 1697, Amsterdam, d. 1750, Amsterdam).
Dutch painter, draughtsman and printmaker. He was the most important Dutch artist of the 18th century; he received many commissions (the catalogue by Niemeijer contains 925 numbers).
