1386 Illumination on parchment Biblioth?que Nationale, Paris The miniature representing St Philip and shown here is a page from the Psalm Book of the Prince. The manuscript is the work of Andr?Beauneveu, a sculptor, painter and miniaturist, one of the most important French artists of the period. Only a few of his works survived. Since 1364 he worked for King Charles V and was commissioned for four funeral monuments in the Abbey of St Denis in Saint-Denis. Later he went to England and Flanders.
