In fact Olivier made marvellous nature studies of twigs and leaves but looked for more than mere truth in his finished works. His drawing of Aigen was one of a series of scenes around Salzburg and Berchtesgaden made for a set of prints of the Seven Days of the Week, each of which was associated with a particular sentiment or experience.
