1804-06 Oil on canvas, 120 x 79 cm National Gallery of Art, Washington BartolomeSureda was the director of the Spanish royal textile, crystal, and ceramic factories.He taught Goya the technique of aquatint. In 1804 Sureda became director of the porcelain works at the Buen Retiro. The companion-piece of the portrait, also in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, represents his wife.
